Submerged Arc Welding
At Valley Fabrication, we are certified in many different welding processes. Each customer has unique needs and because of this we build out a team of welders to fit most project requirements. Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) is a wire-fed process, similar to gas metal arc welding (GMAW or MIG), the major difference being SAW relies on granular flux to protect the arc. The arc is buried and not visible during welding operations. There are some major advantages with the SAW process includng high quality metal welds, smooth/uniform finishes, and high speed deposition rates. Submerged Arc Welding is commonly used in our shop for heavy steel plate fabrication work, such as structural shapes, large-diameter pipes, vessels and tanks. It works best with steels of medium to heavy thicknesses. Unsure of what your project will will need? Fear not, our management team will assess your project and give you the best recommendation for your requirements.
